Ostoform Clinical Study Published in Advances in Skin & Wound Care

Ostoform Limited today announce that Advances in Skin & Wound Care has published results of a third clinical study which evaluates the Ostoform Seal with FLOWASSIST Protection for individuals with an ileostomy. In the trial of 20 participants, 35% experienced an improvement in skin condition, 55% experienced no change in skin condition and 10% experienced worsening skin condition. Moreover, 71% of participants stated that the Ostoform Seal lasted longer than their current barrier ring.

“With the positive data from this clinical study, combined with the results of earlier clinical studies, we are building certainty around the efficacy of the patented FLOWASSIST technology,” said Dr. Kevin Kelleher, chief executive officer of Ostoform. “We are very encouraged by the data, which indicates a trend toward improvements in peristomal skin condition using the Ostoform Seal. Equally important is the data which demonstrates a longer appliance wear-time as this could result in cost savings for individuals, healthcare systems, and insurance companies.”
